Esports Head Coach
Description
The Head Esports Coach is a member of the CIU Athletics department and is charged with coaching, managing, and leading the co-ed CIU Esports program to compete at the collegiate level of Esports.Ìý
Responsibilities
- Coach and administrate for all CIU Esports teams including Rocket League, Overwatch and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.Ìý
- Manage and maintain the sports facility ensuring that all equipment is up to date and appropriately used.Ìý
- Create and implement recruiting strategies to hit recruiting goals set by the Director of Athletics.
- Ensure players meet eligibility requirements for participation.Ìý
- Manage team schedule for practice, games, and study halls.Ìý
- Cast vision for future projects within the program to promote growth.Ìý
- Lead the team and players spiritually creating a culture of Christ-honoring athletes.Ìý
- Work with other departments on campus to help achieve program goals.Ìý
- Create a healthy competitive culture of winning within the program.Ìý
- Forecast budget needs as well as create solutions to budget needs.
Ìý
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Two (2) plus years’ experience in Esports industry as a coach, shoutcaster, manager, or other relevant position.
- Evidence of a maturing relationship with Christ.
- Evidence of a prior winning record and/or a significantly competitive rank in a respective Esports title.
